Masterson’s Tavern , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my latest trip at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The restroom was in even a more revolting state —overflowing , with a broken handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

Going through other patrons’ reviews and conversing with residents , it seems that the standard of sanitation mastersons bar (or lack thereof) at Masterson’s is a long-standing issue . Described as overly aggressive and violating, Peter Cornwell’s behavior has created an unwelcoming setting for women who patronize Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often felt more like that of a lurking threat than a welcoming host .
